The Dilly is the best starting point for tours and hikes in the national park, both in summer and in winter. Rangers show guests where to find wild animals, take you to places full of flowers or into the fascinating underworld of the Limestone Alps. But Upper Austria’s longest walkable rock gorge is just a stone’s throw away.

17 bat species, 1500 different butterflies, rare bugs and countless native forest bird species represent just a small extract from the list. The most prominent returnee is probably the lynx. Not only the 42 wild growing and sometimes very rare orchids are special – the beech forests are a recognised UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
